The visiting cardiologists from Sanford Health complete a high volume of cardiac stress tests twice a month here at  Murray County Medical Center. Stress testing measures how hard the heart works under physical stress to help diagnose coronary heart disease. If further treatment is required, patients are referred on to Sanford in Sioux Falls.

Here are the types of stress tests completed here at MCMC:

• Exercise stress test with EKG

• Imaging stress test with Echocardiography (Stress Echo)

• Nuclear scan with radioactive dye
